Salvation in Christianity is fundamentally the deliverance from sin and its consequences, and believed to be brought about by faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is understood to comprise several facets, including justification, sanctification, and glorification, which together encompass the Christian's journey from a state of sin to a state of grace with God.

Justification: This means being declared righteous in the sight of God. Achieved through faith in Jesus and His sacrificial death and resurrection. Romans 3:23-24 summarizes this concept, stating that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," but are "justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."

Sanctification: This is the process of being made holy, which begins at justification and continues throughout the life of the believer. It involves a gradual transformation as Christians grow in faith and become more Christ-like through the work of the Holy Spirit. Sanctification is seen as a collaborative effort between the believer and the Holy Spirit.

Glorification: This is the completion of salvation and is the final step when the believer's mortal body is resurrected and transformed into an immortal body at the Second Coming of Christ. This is connected to the Christian belief in eternal life, where believers will live forever with God.

The understanding of salvation, how it is achieved, and its implications can vary widely among different Christian denominations. Despite these differences, the core belief that Jesus Christ is the catalyst for salvation is a central tenet of Christian faith.

Salvation is a process, not a one-time event

Receiving salvation through Jesus Christ isn’t the end of the process of being saved. It is the beginning of a lifelong process of being continually shaped into the people that God intends us to be. Recognising sin where the Holy Spirit ongoing teaches and guides you in life. Sin in life does not go away when you give your life to Jesus as sin is within and part of this world but as you learn and grow by the power of the Holy Spirit “the seal of your salvation” The more like Christ you become. Do not grieve The Holy Spirit by continuing a sinful life knowing it is wrong confess sin and turn from it.

Something we do in grateful thanks giving for our salvation. As we become more like Christ, God works through us to share Christ’s love and grace with the world.
